GASP!

SHRIEK!

UPDATE!

Yes, yes, it's time for what appears to be jfkbandies ' semimonthly shot in the arm.  Let's see...

I did not participate in summer band, sadly, but I hear it was fabulous.  Kudos to Sara and Dan on their first time ever as drum majors; GO VERTICALLY CHALLENGED DMs!  Does anyone know how we placed in all/some of the parades?

Band as we know it begins again in six days, yeah-yuh!  The first FB game isn't marked in the planner, apparently, but I know how much we're ALL looking forward to it...heheheh...It'll be interesting to cope without the old blue tampon hats, non?  I vote we play more

~Guns n' Roses

~Beatles

~Any other suggestions?

Any flutes who would like to request a particular row, pls. say something, as I don't know if Sara and I will be able to tell from crap who should go where.

Flip-folders!

Pep music!

BAND DRAMA!

I think as the mod I should prolly update about the concert, at least until Jessie gets here.

Concert went REALLY well, Evergreen was very very cool. Loved the Sea Sailing songs. Awesome!

Our performance went better than expected.

Cons:

-Someone's cell went off during Barn Dance. I still think it was Madey, but she's in denial.

-Newton was entirely off during Sabre and Spurs...but I won't blame him, hard part to play.

-Posey grabbed Teeny's music...so first chair clarinets had to improvise.

Pros:

-Yorkshire was totally on! Yeah-yuh...

-Barn Dance was the best we've ever played it.

Guess thats really all that happened. HCB was good too...but the oboe player? Was that out of tune or am I imagining things?

An island is inhabited by two tribes. Members of one tribe always tell the truth, members of the other always lie. A missionary met two of these natives, one tall, the other short. “Are you a truth teller?” he asked the taller one. “Oopf,” the tall one answered. The missionary recognized this as a native word meaning either yes or no, but he couldn’t recall which. The short native spoke English, so the missionary asked him what his companion had said. “He says ‘yes,’” replied the short native, “but him big liar!” which tribe did each native belong to?

Just letting mes bandies know I love them, and that WE KICK ARSE in the symphonic dept. (yes, Nora, I KNOW you hate it, but you have to admit: we sound damn good).  So if anyone reads this scurrilous rag anymore, which do you prefer?

What kind of band geek are you?

You are a:
Concert Band Geek
Forget that useless marching stuff - you're all about chair auditions, Solo & Ensemble contest, and bow ties. Oh, and you probably value your instrument more than you value your soul. Fo' shizzle.

heh...well... yea...
